Canada sees lowest police reported crime rate since 1972
Statistics Canada reports a three percent drop in police reported crime in 2012 from 2011, reaching its lowest level since 1972. Nearly two million incidents were linked to criminal activity, about 36 000 fewer than the prior year, with crime severity also down by three percent.
