Gene Autry Joins Army Air Corps in World War II Duty

July 26 1943 marks Gene Autry becoming the world’s famous singing cowboy in the Army Air Corps. He flew cargo planes over enemy territory in the Middle and Far East. Roger Taylor, drummer of Queen, was born in Norfolk England and later helped form Queen in 1971 with May Mercury and Deacon. Their early hits included Killer Queen in 1974 and Crazy Little Thing Called Love and Another One Bites the Dust reaching No. 1 in 1979 and 1980. He was inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame in 2020s.

Man charged with indecent exposure in Ross Glen

A 65 year old Medicine Hat man was charged with indecent exposure after an incident reported Saturday evening in the Ross Glen area involving a young child aged six to nine. Police located the suspect in a red truck and said he would face court, but did not release further details.

Four charged in crack cocaine possession case in Medicine Hat

Medicine Hat Police say July 21 Special Operations Unit arrested four people at a local hotel with crack cocaine and cash. Dursa Tafik 21 Hassan Osman 20 Abdulaziz Tahir 20 charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking crack cocaine and proceeds of crime. Diana Suchar 39 charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking crack cocaine.

Boat motor stolen from Redcliff fishing boat

A dark blue Evinrude boat motor was stolen from a Redcliff resident's fishing boat between July 14 and 16. Valued at about $2,000. Anyone with information should contact the Redcliff RCMP detachment or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-222-TIPS.
