Preparations at the Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede grounds ramp up as volunteers and crews set up for today’s Stampede launch. Dunmore Road overpass on schedule ramps to be paved soon
Alberta Transportation reports the Dunmore Road overpass remains on schedule with ramps to be paved this week. On and off ramps at the Trans-Canada Highway corner intersections will serve as detours while traffic flow is maintained with minimal disruption. Bridge engineer Ubaid Khan says ramps will function as detours from early August when the TCH closes.

Accused Seux Assault Suspect Released From Remand
A 26 year old man charged in Medicine Hat sex crime cases from August 2011 and arrested in Moncton in April 2012 has been released from the Red Deer Remand Centre. The Crown re evaluated his release under strict conditions including travel limits curfew alcohol abstinence and weapons prohibition. The case involves 10 allegations including two counts of sexual assault with a weapon and a scheduled two day trial set for August 15.

Guilty Plea in Convenience Store Robbery
A man arrested in February for an early morning convenience store robbery pled guilty Tuesday. Kenton Boyle, 27, robbed Mac's on 20th Street N.E. around 4 a.m., fleeing with cash cigarettes and lottery tickets. Police tracked him to a vehicle crash with a snowbank. canine units aided the arrest. Sentencing adjourned to Sept 18 for pre sentence completion.
