In Smithers, B C, on July 23 William Robertson of Telkwa was fatally shot in the abdomen by his seventeen year old son Frank while guiding him in a rifle handling lesson during a bandit chase. Guards near the Telkwa river bridge joined the pursuit of a bank robber who last week robbed the Royal Bank branch of $2,035.
