Premier Greenfield announced a distinct special assembly of the Provincial Legislature opening Tuesday at 3 pm. A special indemnity will be granted to members, and a single lump sum bill will finance the session, with the Wheat Board bill likely distributed Tuesday afternoon after the opening.

Truro Nova Scotia July 24 Dr R B Bentley 50 a respected local physician was shot dead in the street near his home Felix Cook 38 the shooter turned the revolver on himself after the attack and may die Cook who ran a shoe store was seen to fire three shots one in the cheek and two in the chest after shooting Bentley Cook then killed himself with a final shot No motive has been offered.
Fire at 3 a.m. in A. McNeil's bakeshop in Stoney Creek threatened the village before Hamilton fire department crews confined the blaze to four buildings.
The Caledonian Society arranges cars to take visitors to the Exhibition Grounds on Wednesday at a cheap rate. Cars depart at regular intervals from outside the Chamber of Commerce offices beside the Canadian Pacific telegraph office at the Second Street railway crossing. Chicago July 23 The railroad labor board has no plans for further action to end the railway shop men's strike. Chairman Hooper returned from Washington where he met with President Harding and labor officials. Strike leaders Jewell and Davis discussed settlement, with Davis saying restoration of seniority rights could unlock a settlement while other disputed questions remain. Hooper listed five demands and noted seniority rights as the main obstacle to peace.
In Victoria B C July 23 astronomers report discovery of twin suns 52 quadrillion miles away by Dr J S Plaskett director of Canada's astrophysical observatory using a large telescope. The suns named Plaskett burn at 30000 degrees Fahrenheit with one 75 times heavier and 15 000 times as bright as the sun.
A farm lad near Grand Rapids signaling a speeding Pennsylvania train with a torn rail handkerchief caused it to stop in time to save the lives of about three hundred resorters. He alerted officials by signaling on the track as a defective rail drew his attention. the boy then vanished as railway officials seek to reward him.
