Equal pay gap narrows but risk to economic security grows

The Canadian Council on Social Development reports that while female earnings rose from 54 to 65 cents per male dollar between 1981 and 1995, gender parity remains distant as convergence could threaten economic security. RCMP Take Over Gail Miller Slaying Case in Sask.

Saskatchewan RCMP assumed the Gail Miller murder investigation after Saskatoon police asked to be relieved of the 28 year old case. The move follows new DNA testing linked to David Milgaard and a convicted suspect identified by DNA evidence. Cpl. Vern Quinlan said the matter is under investigation and all avenues will be pursued.
