Philippine lawmakers rocked as banners call for Marcos impeachment
About 200 protesters, many affluent women, disrupted the Philippines National Assembly when they unfurled banners calling for President Ferdinand Marcos to be impeached. Speaker Nicanor Yniguez suspended the session as guards attempted to seize banners hung from the upper gallery. Doors were locked to trap protesters until two opposition members freed them.
