Ottawa July 22 A conference will align provincial relief officers with the National Employment Commission to set August 1 as the start date for a nationwide unemployment relief registry. Forms will collect age sex occupation employability and domestic status to create a permanent up to date list to aid local authorities and the Dominion government in relief spending and policy.
In Winnipeg on July 22 CP dispatch reports a large working group pressuring employers to recognize the United Gar Union. The report notes significant union activity and quotes 12 members involved in the effort aimed at forcing employer cooperation.

Delegates planned visits to Victoria while California officials headed to Toronto. Building permits in 58 Canadian cities were over 10 percent lower in June than 1935.
Edmonton Social Credit member of the Legislature, S C Barnes, was suspended from the party two months ago for failing to cooperate with the movement. Orvis Kennerly, chairman, said Barnes criticized Premier Aberhart in an open letter and refused to help with citizen registration and Social Credit establishment. The central council confirmed the suspension at its meeting on July 12.

In Jasper National Park a dangerous fire near Matigane Lake was brought under control after an all night effort.

Alberta's first heat victim Mrs. Peth Thompson, wife of Reverend O S Thompson of Dover Court, died Tuesday after suffering a stroke while at home. She was the daughter of Rev and Mrs F Spies of Digabury.
A fatal crash occurred near Blackie Alberta when a wheat truck collided with a passenger train at a crossing near Vulcan. Bricker, aged 95, died about half an hour after the collision. Rescue crews treated the injured at the scene and police began an investigation into the incident.
