Captain Refuses To Leave Dogged Launch Off Point Atkinson
A motor launch with four people and a dog named Nipper battled heavy seas off Point Atkinson. After engine trouble the Nanaimo boat Motor Princess rescued the group including Washington Wilkins Sr and Dr and Mrs Washington Wilks Jr of Vancouver. The dog refused to leave and was safely towed to shore after the craft was overhauled.

Auto plunges over bank at Finlay bridge tragedy
Mrs He DD Vaylor of Burnside and Miss Pealecte Bennett with Howard Lawson escaped injury when their Ford Sedum plunged the cut bank near the Finlay bridge after midnight. Mrs Vaylor suffered minor cuts. Lawson sustained a deep knee wound. Mrs Taylor and Bennett escaped with bruises as the car hung over the river’s edge.

Bulyea Former Alberta Lieutenant Governor Dies
Edmonton July 23. Hon G H V Bulyea first Lieutenant Governor of Alberta and later Iberta Utilities Board chairman died Sunday morning on a fruit farm in Peachland B C where he lived in retirement. Funeral will be held at Peachland Tuesday with interment at Qu Appelle Friday.
