Myron of Viking set the pace in the second go round with 165 points on My Buddy, followed by Lawrence Simmons Calgary with 162 on Short Crop and John Lum Fort Steel BC with 155. The top three scores, others were bucked off or reridden. Myron leads Canadians in bareback riding and is fourth in the Southern Alberta circuit, after finishing third in the first go round. Art Millington of Medicine Hat gets another crack at Hy Tide after Friday’s chute foul. Reed Campbell of New Westminster BC earned a re ride when Red River fell. Ted Vargo of Taber sought a ride on Storm Cloud as the beast threw him near the chutes. Myron also shows saddle bronc prowess, placing third in this event. Rocky Rockabar led saddle bronc in the second go with 173 on Pound Keeper, while Ray Simla topped the first go with 166 and Slippery Bill tied for third in the second go. Pursley of Big Sandy rode Saddle Bronc but was knocked into the fence by Slippery. Winn Goudy led a re ride after Commanche misbehaved. Bud Vancleave led wild cow milking Friday with 46.4 seconds, ahead of Jimmy Gladstone’s 65 seconds. Reg Kestler clocked 69.1 seconds in McHugh, De Winton. Luella Metherall clocked 16 seconds in barrel racing, edging Rose Marie.
