Edgar N Rhodes and Arthur Sauve will join the Senate but remain ministers until successors are named. Alfred Duranteau moves to the Quebec Superior Court bench. J A Macdonald sr takes Prince Edward Island vacancy. Rhodes takes one Nova Scotia seat. other Nova Scotia appointees include Col Thomas Cantley Felix P Quinn and Del Robichand. Ontario appointees include Donald Sutherland and Cal dames Arthurs. George B Jones receives a New Brunswick Senate vacancy. Three Senate vacancies remain with seven total.

McPherson Case Before Privy Council
London July 22 open court heard the McPherson divorce appeal before the Privy Council. Mrs Cora McPherson argues the Alberta decree was issued in a non public setting and not by a proper court, contending the judge sat in a library or Edmonton courthouse and excluded the public. Mountie Drowns After Canoe Accident at Wagscanna Lake
Regina dispatch reports RCMP constable Alexander Claud Petrie, 26, drowned when his canoe capsized at Wagscanna Lake. Petrie, from Aberdeen Scotland, joined the force last November. A fellow constable McDonnell shouted for help as the craft overturned. Petrie’s body was recovered about 30 minutes later.
