Ottawa says nearly 3 billion in child benefit payments were issued Monday with about 340 million to be clawed back as taxes in April. Provincial taxes could add roughly 160 million more. The enhanced benefits raise payments to 520 dollars per child under six and 420 per child six to 17, retroactive to January.
