Mystery writer dies during self planned bank robbery
Columbus police identify the dead man as 55 year old mystery writer Jack Drummond who planned to rob three banks in one day as research for his next book. The manuscript titled Bank Robber described the plan and its finish as oblivion. Police say an officer deflected his gun and three others fired, killing Drummond. He wrote crime novels under the pen name George Redder.
