Desmond Burke Wins Prince of Wales Trophy at Bisley
Bisley Camp, Eng July 20 Desmond Burke of the Geva Generals Foot Guards Ottawa won the Prince of Wales Trophy and $600 after a tie with Lieut Andrews of the 17th London Regiment. Master Gunner Collins of Esquimalt B C took third and $75. Burke previously won the King’s Prize in 1924. Also at Bisley Lieut Col R M Blair Vancouver won the Grand Aggregate title and $50 after a tie with Collins. Blair and Collins were the only marksmen to total 509 across thirteen service rifle events. Blair’s inner shot for four points sealed the victory over Collins’s three points with a magpie.
