Wil-Den Mechanical received 15 375 dollars via Kinsmen Club of Medicine Hat after plumbing electrical and air conditioning work remained unpaid on the 2005 Kinsmen Dream Home. Power Loney Paralegal Services filed the lien removal with Alberta Gaming investigating the matter.

Canadian man appears on murder and sexual assault charges

Albert George Muckle, 25, of Ontario, faced a five minute court appearance on charges of attempted murder and aggravated sexual assault in Calgary. The 20 year old Ottawa woman remained in critical condition on life support after a July 11 attack that left a fractured skull. The case was adjourned to July 25.

Court ups sentence in huge cocaine import case

Calgary justice court increases 8 year sentence for Wade Alexander Overacker by four years to 12 years stating the scale and his key role in the organization. Overacker, 31, pleaded guilty to importing 69 kilograms of cocaine after border crossing at Coutts. A customs dog found the drugs hidden in a trailer false floor. This was his fourth smuggling trip in five months between the US and Canada.

RCMP officer in La Ronge pleads not guilty to sexual assault

Const. Thierry Jacques, stationed in La Ronge in 2004, pleads not guilty to a sexual assault charge. The case, investigated after a late fall complaint, led to his transfer to Pierceland and suspension with pay, then without pay upon Ottawa review. A preliminary hearing is set for November.
