Johnson Body Found In Pond In Medicine Hat District
Allan Johnson a 24 year old man drowned when his motor boat capsized on a Saturday near Rattlesnake Coulee. His body surfaced days later found by farmer Art Stemby and recovered by Pattison's. No inquest will be held. He left behind his parents Mr and Mrs Gust Ernest Johnson of Young Saskatchewan. He worked for an oil drilling company and was on holiday at the time of the tragedy.

Gigantic Crowd Attends Ball Park Opening Show
More than 5,000 Medicine Hat residents and Stampede visitors filled the Athletic Ball Park for the opening Stampede presentation. The two hour show included professional acts, bands, six rodeo queen contestants, and a near disaster as about 50 people tumbled into the right field dugout when the roof cracked. One man, Harry Heckenstable, broke an arm. Judy Simons suffered broken bones. Wayne Schaufele, nine, received shock from the fall and heart condition. Hon. L C Halmrast praised Stampede workers. Joyce Evans spoke of the crowd.

Savage Hail Storm Strikes Saskatchewan Region
A 200 mile trail of damaged crops, ruined farm buildings, and shattered cottages stretched across Saskatchewan as a violent hail wind and rain storm carved wide destruction. Steeplejack Survives 225 Foot Descent Crash Injury
Frank Cross, 44, and partner Walter McLeod were lowering from a 225 foot CPR Weston stack when anchor cable snapped. Cross fell 50 feet to the ground suffering a broken leg and internal injuries. he was conscious and in guarded condition at hospital after the four hour descent.
