A severe storm struck Regina and district causing a power outage after a lightning bolt struck the city powerhouse. Repairs and rebuilding are expected, with thousands of dollars in damage and streetcar service suspended until Friday morning. Auxiliary gas engines provide water for the city, lights and cooking continue to be affected, and rainfall aided rural areas.
The Dominion Government weighs forcing witness attendance or using a Royal Commission to address the Beauharnois Committee of Enquiry situation. Senator W L McDougall of Montreal refused to testify at the morning session. The Prime Minister and Premier Bennett spoke in the Commons as the matter was discussed.
