Toronto reports a major forest fire yesterday leveled Hearst in Northern Ontario. The town of 600 to 800 residents was swept by flames. only three or four houses remained. The Northern Ontario Development branch warehouse was destroyed and officials knew little beyond the disaster.

Masonic Grand Lodge re Elects Officers in Ontario
In Niagara Falls Ontario July 16 the Masonic Grand Lodge of Ontario re elected by acclamation the principal officers. A $600 appropriation was set for a provincial lodge of Instruction and next year’s meeting will be in Hamilton. The Grand officers include W. D. McPherson James A. Luke S. D. Warren E. T. Malone and R. J. Gunn with 2,000 Masons to attend the 100th anniversary peace celebration.
