The Vauxhall Stampede went off splendidly with perfect weather and swift handling of events. In the baseball tournament six teams competed with Vauxhall defeating Scandia 11 to 1 in game one and later beating Taber 9 to 2 in the semi final before taking the final 3 to 1 against Enchant to win the first prize. Umpires Hildenbrand and Warvey officiated creditably.

Bisley Camp England July 15 Canadians Capt J W Boulden of Sherbrooke and Sgt Alec Parnell of Verdun led the second stage of the King's Prize with 146 of 150 as 300 shooters competed. They will shoot off for the silver medal while 100 qualifiers for tomorrow include nine Canadians with 140 plus. Desmond Burke was eliminated at 137, Marjorie Foster at 136, and Sgt Jensen of Innisfail qualified with 142 for tomorrow.

Saskatoon wires report one of Saskatchewan’s most hazardous mercy flights ended in tragedy as Mrs. Helen Semenoff died from burns after an oil stove exploded at her Arlee home. Pilot Angus Campbell braved severe storms and headwinds to reach Arlee for the rescue, a 40 mile outward flight taking an hour. The return to Saskatoon with the injured woman was completed in 15 minutes.
