Mr and Mrs C R Garvai returned from Spokane where Garvai president of the Leaseholders Development Company sealed an agreement with Royalty Development Company to bring a rig and begin drilling in the Many Island Lake field within sixty days. Royalty Development controls 1700 acres in Wyoming and already has a rig drilling there. Garvai saw the Snake River Royalty Syndicate rig and was told loading would start at once. He notes oil men in Spokane are bullish, with several companies planning to establish sites in ten to twenty days.

John McDougall a university graduate and school teacher with a long crime record was sentenced to 23 months in the penitentiary after pleading guilty to jewelry theft valued at 200 dollars. His prior western offenses include 20 years total with periods in Spokane Vancouver Medicine Hat and other points. He is 48. Earlier in 1920 he received 30 days hard labor for begging.
