Medicine Hat Trading Co offers men’s dongola boots in Congress style. Six pairs priced at $2.25 now clear at $1.90. Fourteen pairs regular $3.00 now clear at $2.75.
Circular from James Obotrne dated June 30 1900 announces CPR western division changes. John Woodman named divisional engineer based in Winnipeg handling bridges buildings roadbeds track and water service. Geo H Webster appointed resident engineer in Winnipeg for matters east of Moose Jaw. F F Busteéd named resident engineer based in Medicine Hat covering west of Moose Jaw inclusive. Maintenance of bridges buildings roadbed track and water service now supervised by superintendents.
Donations to Medicine Hat General Hospital are listed from many donors including Mrs. R H Robertson of High River giving 1 dollar, Oliver giving 5, S Hooper 15, a friend 6, Drs Smith Smyth and Miss Burnham 10 operating table, Mrs Clark Crowfoot reading matter and many more including coal sacks potatoes and clothing from various individuals and firms in Hamilton Winnipeg and local communities.
The Northwest government challenge over taxing corporate lands opens with two test cases before Judge Richardson. The first cites the CPR and Balgonie school trustees over school taxes. the second involves Weyburn's Hudson's Bay Co. over land taxes. Attorneys argued that taxed lands in large unoccupied districts were exempt, with rulings reserved and appeals likely.

A Wednesday town council meeting in the council chambers discussed waterworks matters from G A Stinson and others, with Public Works handling ditch issues on Toronto Street. The Finance Committee approved several accounts, drooped tax notes, and the Medical Officer proposed sanitation reforms including cremation of garbage if natural gas is used for waterworks.

The roster also names guests from Liverpool Montreal London and Toronto among Canadian and American travelers.
The Twelfth of July is celebrated in Maple Creek with a picnic at Greeley’s grove. A special excursion train left Medicine Hat this morning carrying local Orangemen and friends to the event.
Clara Miller wife of Matthew Miller died in Medicine Hat on the 7th of the month aged 43 years and 7 months.
Stock notes report a new manager at Medicine Hat Ranch and a large eastbound shipment including 11 Galloways and Short horns with one prize winner. The ranch added 300 Alberta cows and beef output goes to local dealer Mr Paul. Horses from Montana join Plume Horse Ranch. several Percherons noted. Also covered are cattle market, sheep ranching plans, bonds relief for seed grain advances, a scaffold accident, court actions, a lecture by Rev. O Meara, prairie fire risk, and a packed social at Mrs Burton’s.
Millarville Cricket Club arrived by Crow's Nest train to Calgary and played a friendly at the baseball grounds against Medicine Hat. Medicine Hat scored 48 and 59, while Millarville made 142 with a 52 by one batsman. Afterward, visitors enjoyed a smoker at Assiniboia and a river trip on the steamer Assini boia. A meeting to organize a local club was announced for Tuesday.
The Boston Bloomers Ladies' Base Ball Club will play Medicine Hat on Thursday in Boston. Admission is 59 cents. game set for 4 p.m. The Boston club tours annually and travels in its own palace car under W P Needham. Also noted are the death of Mrs M Miller at Ross Creek and the death of Topsy the dog after a wolf encounter.
Arthur Trent and his wife together with Mr and Mrs Dean from Moose Jaw are at the Assiniboia hotel or venue, the sighting noted in local society circles.
