Work at the Ogilvie mill pauses as steel for the spur track is delayed. Sixty workers handle sand and gravel while 800 yards have been moved and 1200 more needed. Montreal July 10. Evening papers warned of a possible cyclone amid tropical heat. The threat caused a panic as the sky darkened, winds rose, and light rain fell. Thousands rushed to open spaces and many stayed out all night. A fourth heat death, Barney King, a Canadian Northern Railway laborer, was reported today.

Robbers Hold Up Train Near Coffeyville
Six masked men stopped the Katy Limited train No 9 near Coffeyville Kansas after leaving Paris Missouri at 10 pm. Passengers and crew were guarded in coaches while two robbers tried to blow open the baggage car safe. No one injured. six bandits fled as officers closed in. No arrests yet. Magistrate Kealy condemned cruel horse treatment after three recent Canadian cases. M Herring ton, a farmer 40 miles north east, was charged for working a horse in a severely injured state with raw flesh showing. He denied ownership before admitting it. a veterinary surgeon called it an awful case and the magistrate fined him 15 dollars plus costs to curb such cruelty.
