In Berlin Hitler prepared to address the Reichstag as Goebbels assailed foreign press and Goering and Hess seen shaping attitudes amid Munich tensions.
The Edmonton Journal lists the probable cabinet for the new Alberta government under Premier-elect Reid. Named ministers include Hugh W. Allen Public Works, J. Mac Lellan Industries Lands and Mines, F. S. Grisdale Agriculture, George Headley Health and Municipal Affairs, J. Lymburn Attorney General, Perren Baker Education, J. R. Love Provincial Treasurer, and Irene Parlby as Minister without Portfolio.
Sheriff deputies pursued a gunmen gang possibly led by John Dillinger across eastern Fond du Lac county after a motorist was shot and killed. The trio fled in a gray battleship car exchanging fire with two machine guns and fled as deputies closed in, a body seen on the running board. Separately, the National Lumber Manufacturers Association forecast U.S. 1934 lumber production of 16 to 17 billion feet, up 3 to 4 billion from 1933.
Vienna police uncovered a labyrinth of secret subterranean passages not on official maps as part of a recent construction investigation. Senator Elmer Thomas denounces plans to stabilize the U S dollar with the British pound or gold standard. He cables Governor George L Harrison of the New York Federal Reserve from Basle Switzerland asserting such moves could trigger a congressional inquiry and criticizing bankers abroad for discussing stabilization with European central banks.
Secretary Henry Wallace tentatively ordered a continuation of the 15 percent wheat acreage reduction for next year but warned the control could be lifted if other powers fail to meet terms of the London wheat agreement. Observers see the move as US readiness to expand acreage and increase wheat exports unless partners comply.
The third test between England and Australia ended in a draw as Australia failed to complete their second innings before time ran out. Australia were 66 for 1 at the close, with England having 627 in the first and 1283 for no wicket in the second. The result leaves the five match series tied at one win each.
Yarmouth Nova Scotia July 10 (C P)—A powerful explosion shattered the Kel s ey Cove district destroying a 40 foot fishing craft and sending flames high as Charles Smith vanished. Villagers suspect foul play and a village feud is blamed for threats plaguing the area. Sinclair Allen, owner, said his brother’s boat was previously damaged in the rum trade. Allen described racing to the beach as his boat burned, windows shattered, and a new engine wrecked. He valued his loss at 1300 dollars and noted no ignition source aboard. Police seek answers as gas line was severed.
New York July 10 A P witnesses claim losses near 325 000 in federal court against James C McKay and William J Graham Reno promoters accused of mail fraud in an international swindle. Victims say they were enticed by fake race track winnings then lost after good faith money. The scheme allegedly extended from Florida to Saskatchewan with killings said to occur at Reno and funds moved via Riverside Bank of Reno. George Wingfield president of the bank is subpoenaed and Roy J Frisch cashier is missing.
In Bastrop Louisiana a mob of about 300 overpowered the jail, took Andrew McLeod a 26 year old Black farmer from custody and hanged him from an oak tree after he allegedly attacked a 19 year old girl near the town. No jailer was on duty at the time.
Washington reports indicate that conditions on July 1 pointed to wheat production of 483,622,000 bushels and corn production of 2,112,600,000 bushels for the year.

Fritz Gissibl of the National Socialist party claimed pamphlets were distributed by Friends of New Germany and planned leadership for the Midwest. The committee released testimony alleging Dr Hans Luther arranged free travel to Germany for American writers to favor Germany in future pieces.
