Ottawa approves 10 acts including freedom of information

In Ottawa the Senate granted royal assent to ten acts, among them the long awaited freedom of information bill and juvenile delinquency reform. Also approved were measures creating a federal co operative energy body, enabling over 1 billion dollars for manpower training, and updating a West Germany tax treaty. Proclamations by cabinet will trigger effect. The information bill grants access to tests, studies, reports, statistics and polls while protecting personal data in government information banks with an information commissioner and court appeals.
