Alberta economy gains across sectors in early 1972

Alberta's economy shows broad gains from January to April 1972. Farmers' cash receipts rose 33 percent from 1971, crops up to 113 million, livestock 168 million with a 27 percent lift. Manufacturing, packing, refining, building permits, retail, and motor vehicle sectors all posted double-digit gains. Unemployment fell to 4.2 percent in May from 5.2 percent in April.
