The agriculture department licensed Sundance, a hard red winter wheat. It will be released in fall to Alberta seed growers chosen by the provincial seed stock committee, with a possible limited public sale in fall 1972. Developed by Dr. M N Grant at Lethbridge station, Sundance out yields Winalta and Kharkov 22 MC and resists shattering.

Escaped convict captured near Medicine Hat
RCMP Officers captured Larry William Harvey, 27, an escaped convict from Prince Albert penitentiary, on a farm two miles west of Medicine Hat Tuesday night. He had fled after a hospital treatment and was found asleep in a car reported stolen from Prince Albert. Harvey, sentenced to 10 years for an armed bank hold up in Red Deer, will be returned to Prince Albert.
