Coaldale Airman Killed in French Jet Crash

In METZ France a CF-100 all weather jet from No 1 fighter wing at Marville crashed in an open field killing two Royal Canadian Air Force airmen. Pilot FO Kenneth Sydney Partington 28 of North Battleford Sask and FC Heinrich Hank Thiessen 25 of Coaldale Alta died. Cause unknown. Partington who was single joined 445 Wolverine Squadron in 1959 and Thiessen joined in 1958. Thiessen survived by his wife Ruth Adams of Winnipeg who lives in Virton Belgium near Marville.

The FBI reports the capture of 50-year-old Daniel Jackson Oliver Wendel Holmes Morgan who impersonated a lawyer for 18 months in Washington. He registered July 3 in San Francisco as John Donald Clark and used the alias L. A. Harris while practicing law.

Medicine Hat teacher dies after electric shock

Donald Wittig a 24-year-old Medicine Hat teacher at Alexandra Junior High died after a 115-volt shock while installing a vent pipe at 956 Queen St. He was on a stove when the drill grounded fault caused the fatal cardiac arrest. Inquiries by city police and provincial electrical inspectors follow the incident.

Taber Man Fatally Shot in Dogtown Home

RCMP detain 13-year-old Taber district girl in connection with the Wednesday night killing of 47-year-old Rade Mamula at his Johnson subdivision home known as Dogtown, near Taber. The victim died from a close range .303 rifle shot to the mid-section. Investigators Corporal H. C. Berry, Corporal D. Vidlan, and Constable N. E. Clare lead the probe at Taber Detachment and Lethbridge Criminal Investigation Branch.

Helicopter Missing Over Labrador Flight With Six Aboard

A helicopter chartered to the United States Air Force with six civilians aboard disappeared after departing Cartwright Labrador for Goose Bay. The craft had fuel for two hours and 30 minutes and weather across the region has been foul all week. Names of those aboard were not released.

Quintuplets Born in India Reported by New Delhi Papers

Two New Delhi newspapers report the birth of quintuplets in a north Indian village. The five children include three boys and two girls born Tuesday in Dabra, about 780 miles south of New Delhi.
