Fintry Estate Donated to Fairbridge Schools by Dunwaters
Vernon BC July 7 Captain Dunwaters' Fintry estate near Vernon, a 2600 acre property along Okanagan Lake, is accepted by Fairbridge Farms Schools Incorporated. The Laird of Fintry, renowned Ayrshire breeder and public benefactor, previously gifted a 50 000 pound bonus after selling the Outran Press. The self contained ranch features a water system, power plant, trap lines, and a wildlife sanctuary. The Fairbridge Farm School began on Vancouver Island in 1096 and now houses about 160 children from the Old Country.

Local bank clearings rose to 231 018 for the week despite a one day holiday, the strongest weekly total since Christmas week 1937. Last week cleared 182 210 and the same week last year 313 403.
Dog Poisonings Alarm City Along Braemar Street
Police report multiple dog poisonings in recent weeks on the north side near Braemar street. Ten Die As Fire Drill Goes Wrong At Lisbon Exhibition
Ten boys died when firefighters failed to rescue them from a fire drill in a staged exhibition structure at a fair. Ten others were seriously injured in Coimbra during a drill. The building, soaked with gasoline, spread flames rapidly causing several deaths and a crowd stampede as youths aged about 12 to 14 tried to escape.

Three Drown As Car Plunges Into Toronto Bay
Mrs. Frank E. Fairbairn of Cedarville Ontario and two of her sons Robert and Frank drowned when the automobile they rode in plunged into Toronto Bay near Spadina Avenue. The husband escaped through a side door and was hospitalized. The accident happened as crowds gathered on the waterfront.
