Civic lawmakers clash with power house chief over dismissal

They argued Lyon had shown satisfactory work and seniority rights under the power plant agreement and should not have been dismissed while a younger single man remained. Ald Morrison moved the dismissal be withdrawn and Desjardine named as the extra man to be let go. The council aimed to settle the issue promptly and seek an amicable understanding with Supt Carr.
