CIA role alleged in Ottawa incident in 1984

The Ottawa Citizen reports unnamed sources allege the US Central Intelligence Agency operated in Canada without government knowledge in late 1984 and that an apology followed. Horses trampling crowd mars Calgary Stampede parade

Bank seeks court bid opening in Dome Amoco deal

Bank of Montreal filed in Alberta Court of Queen's Bench to set aside parts of Dome Petroleum Amoco Canada pact. It seeks public access to confidential terms and opposes a clause allowing Amoco to seize Dome land if the deal fails. Dome owes BMO about 835 million of 6.3 billion total debt and has rejected Amoco's 5.2 billion takeover. BMO supports a 60 day extension to the debt restructuring.
