The Hat Court House motor-vehicle bureau reports a 40 percent cut in license prices effective Thursday morning. In 212 days ending noon today plates for 47 passenger cars and trucks were sold, with expectations for continued rush next week.
A nine to six AFL executive council vote indicated John L. Lewis would be ousted from the federation. The survey was completed today by a prominent labor leader in Washington.
The Hutchinson Block on Third Street Medicine Hat transfers ownership to Harry R Hutchings formerly of Calgary. The price was not disclosed but suggests local business block values remain strong. The block built in 1912 by the late Thomas Hutchinson housed harness saddlery leather goods and sporting goods with various fraternal halls upstairs.

The idnonton sinking fund board holding 13000 Alberta University bonds refuses reduced interest offered by the provincial government. Five month full rate and June half rate were proposed but the board will not accept 774.50 as payment. Public bonds totaling 13000000 faced similar reductions, with bondholders reportedly not accepting the cut.
