A Pan Am jumbo jet with 153 aboard was hijacked to Hanoi by a South Vietnamese man identified as Nguyen Thai Binh. The pilot overpowered him and an armed passenger killed the hijacker after the plane landed in Saigon. The other 135 passengers escaped. several people were injured.
