Nine year old Djamshid Djan Popal leaves Kabul with his father and an army medic headed toward Canada for life saving heart surgery. They travel via Pakistan and England to Toronto and Ottawa where doctors at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario will treat him free of charge.

Calgary train-bus crash injures tour bus driver and 21 Koreans

A Calgary tour bus collided with a moving Light Rail Transit train, injuring the driver seriously with a collapsed lung and sending 21 Korean passengers to hospital with minor injuries. Witnesses said the bus appeared to proceed through a green LRT signal while the bus had a red light.
