Winnipeg report says Joe Clark urged opponents to declare themselves while he repeats plans to resign as Progressive Conservative leader. He will quit to campaign freely but will evaluate implications before an official resignation. The move sparks speculation.
Dalton Camp says the campaign to oust Joe Clark received funds from outside Canada including oil money. He clarifies not alleging sinister foreign government involvement and says the donors were right wing ideologues aiming to push the Conservative party further to the right.
