Toronto January 31 Pte Charles C Hancock 23 of Georgetown Ont was arrested on manslaughter charge after a highway crash early yesterday that killed Pte W Lindbald Toronto Irish Regiment of Canada and injured several other soldiers at the Long Branch training centre Hancock a member of the Lorne Scots Regiment was remanded to February 12 on $2000 bail following the incident.
Munitions Minister Howe announced a government addition costing about 5000 dollars to the John Inglis Company gun plant in Toronto. The expansion, authorized by the Department of Munitions and Supply, will be used partly for Bren gun production.

Ottawa reports 30 tons of German rifles shell cases and mortars from the first Great War are being melted for scrap.
