Brooks January 27 special to the News. E L Gray resigns as general manager of the Eastern Irrigation District after four years of leadership. He leaves with the district self supporting, water rates cut by 15 cents per acre, and acreage on the roll rising from 95 000 to 125 000 with 25 000 more potential. Gray helped bring Calgary power lines to Brooks and used power to lift irrigation water to 2 500 acres, opening up land previously barren. He plans to stay in Brooks until June while the board accepts his resignation.
