An advertisement touts Moonme’s antiseptic oil as a powerful treat for eczema and skin troubles. It promises rapid action against cracking dryness, darkening of toes and feet, and other skin issues with a bold claim of complete satisfaction and money back.
Joseph Weare born 1861 in Gloucestershire England came to Canada early in the century and lived in the city for about forty years as a painter. He served in a Lethbridge unit during wartime and was laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery with a Canadian Legion tribute and Last Post.
A medical discussion recalls that focal infection from teeth or tonsils can trigger rheumatism and arthritis. Even after removing infected teeth, relapses occur as unseen infections in the bowel blood or joints may continue. Wednesday eleven A defeated ten A to reach the final, with eleven A’s now to face their own classmates in the final round on the union of the prairie provinces. Judges were Rev. J. W. Bainbridge and Rev. W. D. Hollingworth. The Eleven A winning team Eleven D included Gwen Evans and Evelyn Campbell. negative Milton Lafleur and Wilf Dempster. Losing Eleven A team affirmative John Carr and Bob Wallace. negative Norman Preston and Marjorie Davies. The Twelve A team affirmative Doreen Armstrong and Bessie Morrison. negative Brian Reesor and Jerry Williams. The Ten A team affirmative Marjorie Smith and Bob Gow. negative Boo Friesen and Bob Shannon. Youth Training Card Party postponed to Friday Feb 3.
Hat industry representatives met in New York to address men owning fewer than 12 hats. The Hat Style Council announced the "12 best hat" list, naming Marshall Fielda, Jack Dempsey, Bing Crosby, Tyrone Power, and Fred Astaire among the nation’s best dressed.
Geo. Skillan, regional drama adjudicator, says Canada needs a school for directors to build a national theatre. He lauds Maritime talent but cites lack of competent directing as a shortcoming and suggests universities may offer such a course.

At last evening's Cypress Club annual gathering officers were elected with N Dowson as President and E G Macdonald as Vice President. Committee members include D W Hays M A Cory J Mitchell C A Anderson Fred Long BE J Vickers R n Q Rarah and Martyn Oliver serves as Auditor.
Westminster church held an enthusiastic January 24 meeting with a W A supper. The deficit at year start turned to a balanced budget across departments with all obligations met. Missionary funds and overall giving rose. the Women’s Association raised 809 dollars and membership and worship attendance increased. New stewards elected include Tha Elder Percy Park and J D Tufford. W M Kent and W W Oliver to session with potential Feb 12 ordination.
Tribute praised the Women’s Association the choirs and the janitor. The Young Women’s Auxiliary was organized and the Mission Band doubled attendance. A vote of appreciation went to Rev. R. B. Layton and Mrs Layton, ending with a hopeful outlook.
