Hat businessman fined for tax evasion in Medicine Hat
Klaus W. Schmidt, 42, of 502 4th St. N.W., was fined a total of 9101.04 after pleading guilty to three tax evasion charges in provincial court. He and two companies received separate fines for related offences under the Canada Income Tax Act for failing to pay about 16800 from 1971 to 1974. Defence counsel credited Schmidt’s cooperation in the sentence.
