Medicine Hat to unveil Family Leisure Centre funding plan
A press conference Friday with MP LaVar Payne Alberta Culture Minister Heather Klimchuk and Mayor Norm Boucher is set to reveal an infrastructure package for the Family Leisure Centre. The Build Canada Fund would supply about 20 million from Alberta and Ottawa with 16 million from the city for a 36 million project adding an ice sheet locker rooms indoor fieldhouse and turf field near Methanex Bowl. The event and details appear tied to an expected spring funding decision amid prior rejections for a larger arena project and a treasury board review.
