Veterinarian Bob Gilbert repaired a fractured femur with pins and wiring under anesthesia. the bear will continue artificial den sleep in a temperature controlled warehouse until April.

Edmonton man kills wife then dies in Brookside home

Police say Elizabeth Robertson 79 died a homicide while Stewart Robertson 79 died in a non criminal death after being found with their bodies in a Brookside house near 52nd Avenue and 142nd Street. Elizabeth suffered advanced Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease and was legally blind. Authorities await toxicology results to finalize causes.
