Toronto Stock Exchange tumbles amid oil price drop
Stock prices fell for the second straight day on the Toronto Stock Exchange. The TSE 300 index dropped 55.42 points to 2758.80, the largest one-day point loss since September 25, 1981, when oil stocks were hit by the Ottawa Alberta energy agreement.

Fire at Delhi luxury hotel kills 38 and injures 70
In New Delhi flames engulfed a 10 storey luxury hotel before dawn, killing at least 38 people and injuring 70. Among the dead were three Britons, two Australians, and an American. twenty foreigners died overall. Some guests leaped from upper floors while escaping. No Canadians registered at the hotel.
