Lead negotiator J J Camp says a $1.1 billion compensation agreement should be detailed in April with an Ontario court giving parties until April 9 to update progress. The February opt out for B C class members was deemed irrelevant, leaving victims to decide with proper rights information once the deal is public.
The Supreme Court of Canada reversed a Federal Court of Appeal ruling and upheld a section of the Income Tax Act allowing Revenue Canada to conduct special inquiries into taxpayers financial affairs. The decision stems from Angelo Del Zotto of Toronto who faced a tax inquiry begun in 1985 amid evasion suspicions. Greenspan, Del Zottos lawyer, called the ruling major with enormous consequences.
