Alberta will introduce a five year driving licence this year. The scheme requires licences by a driver's birthday with four classes A to D and tests at renewal. An electronic file will track every licensed driver to aid accident diagnosis and enforcement.
At Vauxhall High School, 14 of 15 Grade 10 students who walked out last Friday returned to class after a special board meeting with parents and staff. Principal Ralph Ringdahl says the issue was one of personalities, not homework, and no punishment will be given as the school remains “a happy school again.”
Ottawa reveals a near record 1957-58 outlay of $5,220,166,000 as Finance Minister Harris outlines peacetime spending. Budgetary costs total $4,827,600,000 plus $392,536,000 for old age pensions, with pensions separately tracked.
