Edmonton Jan 22 Argument on the Alberta attorney general department appeal from a judgment by Justice A F Ewing that the Guaranteed Securities Interest Act of 1937 was invalid and parts of the Guaranteed Securities Proceedings Act invalid began in the appeal court. The Foresters sued the Lethbridge Northern Irrigation District for failure to pay full interest on bonds guaranteed by the province. Interest had been cut in half by the act and full collection was barred by the proceedings act. Justice Ewing awarded the Foresters 5400 in interest charges.
