City official backs using Allied Oil profits for Event Centre fund
Medicine Hat alderman John Hamill pushes allocating $2 million from Allied Oil and Gas profits to the Community Capital Fund to seed an Event Centre, arguing the city will need a venue and funds have accumulated since Allied’s 2008 donation. The fund currently holds about $95 million and can decide on future use.
