London reports Sir Winston Churchill remains unconscious on the sixth day of illness. Lord Moran, his doctor, stated Churchill slept peacefully through the night and into the morning with no change. A small vigil gathered outside Hyde Park Gate as family and public observers await further news.
Lord Moran, Sir Winston Churchill’s longtime physician, arrived at Churchill’s London home around 5 p.m. and stayed about 45 minutes before departing at 5:45 p.m. There was no immediate statement from Churchill’s household regarding the purpose of the visit. The 82-year-old doctor appeared unexpectedly.
A British Medical Association official noted Sir Winston Churchill's restlessness subsided and he slept peacefully through the night and morning, with a mid day bulletin promising another update. Lord Moran, at Churchill's bedside since 2 a.m., later announced a deterioration in the statesman’s condition.

Buddhist leaders vowed a hunger strike if Houng’s government does not step down, sparking a riot and arrests as police used tear gas.
Ottawa CP reports ten provincial electoral boundary commissions were named to redraw federal maps within a year. Each panel has four members including Nelson Castonguay, with judges chosen by the province’s chief justice and two other members picked by Commons Speaker Alan Macnaughton. Parties were not consulted. selections include a university official and the province’s chief electoral officer. In Alberta the panel includes Justice M. M. Porter, A. S. Armstrong, Raymond Crevelin, and the Alberta university president.
Robert Neville Talbot 56, former executive director of the Alberta division of the Canadian Cancer Society, pleaded guilty to theft of 191000 dollars in society funds and to nine counts of uttering forged cheques totaling five dollars. Justice WJCK Kirby presided at the Alberta Supreme Court trial. Sentencing was expected later today after considering all aspects of the case.
An Indonesian spokesman condemned Canada for halting an Otter aircraft shipment to a UN agency in West Irian, calling it an inconsistent unilateral act. Ottawa had issued an export licence for De Havilland Otters to the UN ICAO project, with UN supervision expected to control use amid Indonesia's confrontation with Malaysia.
