Five year old Neil Ward of 592 7th St N E and three year old George Henchel fell through thin ice on the South Saskatchewan River while playing with Kimberly Ward. Neil tried to save George but both were pulled from the water. George was not recovered by press time. He arrives at 4:30 p.m. at the Assiniboia Hotel, attends a 6 p.m. dinner at Park Lane Hotel, and presents Queen Scout scrolls to 44 Scouts at the Vocational School auditorium. An 8 p.m. address follows with 10 Medicine Hat Scouts and three Scoutmasters highlighted. Sunday includes a church service, with a luncheon before returning to Calgary.
