City to relocate two fire stations in Medicine Hat plan
Medicine Hat will move Station No. 1 to a new site north of the South Saskatchewan River and close Dunmore Road Station No. 2. A new station near 13th Avenue S.E. and Trans-Canada Way, plus another building, would expand coverage with a $13 million capital cost. The plan cuts long term operating costs by about $2.3 million yearly while adding $6.5 million in new capital and a projected sale of the Dunmore Road site.
