Lifebuoy Found From Ill Fated Steamship Victoria
A lifebuoy marked Hai Da from the ill fated tramp steamer Hui Da was recovered off Vancouver Island west coast. The find was reported by William C. Copeland lightkeeper at Carminah about 80 miles northwest of Victoria. The Hui Da, a British flagged vessel, was overdue from Seattle with a sulphur cargo for China and had a Norwegian master and Chinese crew.
