The jury concluded Amile Neiman died after accidentally falling from a freight train on the Canadian Pacific Railway between 24:05 and 1:40 January 11 near Irvine. Death was caused by a train passing over and mangling the body. No railway employees were found responsible.
Toronto reports Premier Mackenzie King would seek a full term but may appeal early if Liberal progress stalls. He urged closing breaches and uniting the party, while Ottawa notes rising chatter of a general election this year and Ontario Quebec rallies. Coroner details follow.
In Bombay on January 13 a shooting affray in the Malabar Hill area left Abdul Kadir Dawla dead after three revolver shots. A British officer was wounded and others, including an Englishman and a woman, were hospitalised. Four British officers pursued the assailants. one was captured.
Berlin reports the Berlin to Cologne express crashed into a standing train at Herne Westphalia causing many deaths and injuries. Three cars were demolished and twenty one bodies were recovered from the debris. Herne lies five miles from Bochum in the Ruhr Valley.
Representatives of the United States, after years of observer status, will sign an Inter-Allied agreement to fix and divide German reparations payments. The move marks the United States shifting from observer to participant at the conference resolving post Versailles financial issues.

London January 12 Howard Carter the Egyptologist has reached an agreement with the Egyptian government to resume work on the tomb of the Pharaoh Tutankhamen. The project was taken over after the death of Lord Carnarvon and is to continue under official permission.

A special general meeting of the Chamber of Commerce will be held at the Cecil Hotel next Thursday starting at 12 15. The meeting will discuss the proposed contract with C K H Roth to drill a deep test well for oil and will have explanations by Mr S Blanchard and Mr A B Crow. The CPR station at Stettler was destroyed by fire.
